What is Strong fit, No longer aligned, and No change?

Strong fit means the conditions line up. No longer aligned means the case has faded. No change means it still fits, and it is not a fresh result. Not there yet means the pullback has not shown up. Poor fit means it does not qualify. The screener, Value, Growth, and Intraday use those same words. A book only chooses which names to show, and in what order. It does not turn No change into Strong fit.

How does FinTape time a trade?

The business comes first: valuation, profit, cash, the dividend, and debt. Value then asks if the price is cheap versus other names in the same sector in this book, not whether the multiple is simply low. Growth asks whether revenue, earnings, and cash are still growing. The tape wants the long trend up, a pullback to the averages or a breakout that is not already stretched, and no serious headline. No longer aligned is the trend breaking.

What are the stop and the target?

The stop is the price where the idea is wrong. The target is the price where the planned gain is enough. Intraday stops are tight and are meant for that session. Value stops are wider, because those are no change, not day results. The stop and the target match the screener, because the result is the same.

How many shares does the size suggest?

On the stock page, set your capital and the percent you are willing to lose if the stop is hit. The share count is that amount divided by the distance from the price to the stop. It is a size, not an order.

Why is the same ticker still here?

A result stays until the rule changes, not until the clock changes. A value or growth name can stay for weeks if the business and the tape still qualify. An intraday strong fit can appear or drop as the live tape changes. A shared no longer aligned stays that way. A headline can move the shared momentum score, and that can change the result.

Scores

What is the value score?

It compares the price with the other names in the same sector in this book: the earnings multiple, cash yield, earnings yield, and the balance sheet. A low multiple on its own is not a high score. A value trap, cheap with weak cash, heavy debt, or a weak business, stays off the Value strong-fit list. The company’s own 5-year average multiple and a full cash-flow model are not in the feed, so those points are left blank.

What is the growth score?

It uses revenue growth, earnings growth, forward earnings when that estimate is published, whether the last quarters are speeding up, free cash flow, the margin, and the debt. A figure that is not in the filing is left blank. It is not guessed. That includes the 5-year pace, return on invested capital, how much growth was bought, the size of the market, and analyst revisions. A growth trap stays off the Growth strong-fit list. The result stays the one the screener uses.

What is the intraday momentum score?

It is a score from 0 to 100 that ranks the Intraday list. A strong live tape can add a session strong fit the longer books do not have. A shared no longer aligned is not turned into a strong fit. A fading session is noted. The score does not, by itself, mark a name no longer aligned.

What do Quality and Momentum mean under the ticker?

Quality is the business score: valuation, profitability, cash flow, dividend yield, and debt, from the last filing on record. The dividend uses the trailing payout divided by the live price. Momentum under the ticker is the shared tape score: the trend stack, recent returns, RSI, the 52-week high, and volume. Both run from 0 to 100. The Intraday page also prints a live momentum score out of 100 in the note under the name. That number ranks the session book.

Why did the momentum score change?

Each scored name is checked against the latest headline. A story that names the company can move the shared momentum score by at most 12 points, up or down, before the strong fit, no change, or no longer aligned label is chosen. The line under the ticker is that headline. A headline that does not name the company does not move the score. No headline in the last three days leaves the technical score unchanged.

Pages

What is the difference between Desk, Value, Growth, and Intraday?

The Desk is the front page. It shows one Value name and one Intraday name in strong fit, no longer aligned, and no change, then the leaders. Value marks a strong fit only when a sound business is cheap. Growth marks a strong fit only when earnings and revenue are still growing and the price is reasonable for that growth. Neither uses momentum. Intraday is the momentum book.

What are the indices on the Desk?

The moving row is the S&P 500, Nasdaq, Russell 2000, Dow Jones, VIX, Gold, Silver, Brent, and WTI, plus the main NSE and BSE indices: Nifty 50, Next 50, Bank, Financial, Midcap 100, Smallcap 100, 500, IT, India VIX, Sensex, BSE 100, 200, 500, Bankex, Midcap Select, Smallcap Select, and NSE SME. BSE SME is the average move of the BSE SME names, because that index level is not on the public quote feed. Price and the day's change refresh about every 10 seconds. Click one to see the year to date, 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year change where the feed has that history. They are not a result on a name.

What is the quoted tape?

Signals cover gainers, losers, new highs and lows, unusual volume, moving averages, earnings, and headlines. The Screener also filters exchange, size, P/E, dividend, price, RSI, volume, performance, margin, growth, and debt. Extra views are Ownership, Forecast, and Snapshot. Ownership shows promoter, FII / FPI, DII, and retail. FII and FPI are one foreign line. Retail is the public line. Insider, institutional stake, and short interest stay on the stock Snapshot. US filings do not split promoter, FII, and DII, so those stay blank. Not loaded means that filing has not been read yet. Not filed means the report did not publish it. Neither is a zero. None of this changes the label.

What is on Mutual Funds?

It is free. The list is every Indian scheme from AMFI: the fund house, category, plan, option, NAV, date, scheme code, and ISIN. Add two to four funds and the overlap tool shows each published holding and its weight, then the percent of the two portfolios that is the same name. That percent uses the lower weight. It is the latest monthly disclosure, not a result on a stock.

Why does the Desk show one name in each call?

The Desk is a preview: one strong fit, one no longer aligned, and one no change from Value, and the same from Intraday. Value on Elite shows up to ten US names and ten India names in each call. Intraday on Elite Pro shows up to fifteen of each region. Growth shows up to ten of each region. Those tabs open only on the plan listed on the Plans page.

Plans

What does each plan include?

Free is the desk sample, plus the same Screener as Elite. Elite is ₹999 a month. It opens Value, Growth, Markets, and Ask FinTape. Elite Pro is ₹1799 a month. It includes Elite, plus Intraday, Sketch on the Screener, the quality score, the momentum score, and the call. One plan per account.

What does the Screener open on each plan?

Free and Elite open the same Screener: every filter, chart, statement, and export. Elite Pro, ₹1799 a month, adds Sketch, the quality score, the momentum score, the strong fit, no change, or no longer aligned label, and the path check.

What is Ask FinTape?

One chat on the desk, for Elite and Elite Pro. It can explain a listed name, a page, or a general term. A screen count, a path check, and a Strategy replay are read from those tools. It remembers the book you named, India or the United States, and the last rule. If a figure is not there, it says which one. Delivery, the circuit band, and the F&O ban list are named as missing. It does not invent a price or a win rate, and it does not replace a strong fit, no change, or no longer aligned result. Quality, momentum, and the result are repeated only on Elite Pro.

What is the path check?

Elite Pro can open a Value or Growth name and replay that stock's last two years of daily moves. You set the entry, stop, target, and how many trading days you plan to keep. It shows how often the target came before the stop, plus a worse, middle, and better path. Those three paths are drawn on the daily chart after the run. Add shares if you want the result in rupees or dollars. It is a scenario, not a forecast, and it is not for an intraday call. If one simulated day touches both the stop and the target, the stop is counted.

Is the path check the same as backtesting?

No. A backtest walks real prices in the order they happened and counts what one fixed rule would have done. The path check does not do that. It reshuffles that stock’s last two years of daily highs and lows into 2,000 paths for the one entry, stop, target, and holding period you set. The days are not in calendar order, and a path can reuse an old day’s move. FinTape does not backtest the Value, Growth, or Intraday calls. Record is the forward log of saved calls. Strategy can replay one daily rule, EMA cross, MACD cross, volume breakout, or RSI, on the names the desk already scores. The last 20% of that window is held out. That replay is not the call, and it is not every listed name. The chart replay button only steps old candles. FinTest is a different page: low, base, and high prices from reported earnings, at this stock’s multiple and at the multiple related companies pay. It is not a path check and it is not a trade replay. Priced-in growth, on the stock page, does not set those prices.

What is priced-in growth?

It is on the stock page, under the fundamentals, and again under FinTest. You pick 3, 5, or 10 years. It uses the live price and trailing earnings. If reported profit growth was published, it shows what earnings would be if that rate ran for those years, and the multiple you would be paying if the price did not change. Type your own rate to see the same two figures for that rate. If the multiple is unchanged, the price only moves with earnings. It does not set a target. It is not FinTest, and it is not the path check. A missing earnings figure stays blank.

Why is Markets locked?

Futures, forex, crypto, treasuries, ETFs, and index funds open on Elite, ₹999 a month. Elite also opens Value and Growth. It does not open Intraday or the Screener calls. A locked Markets tab sends you to Plans.

Where does the subscription money go?

Plans has Pay, plus GPay, PhonePe, and Paytm. Those three are UPI. Pay also takes a card or netbanking. Monthly is the listed price. Six months is paid once at 20% off, and a year is paid once at 30% off. Tick Renew automatically on the plan you choose if that same term should be charged again when it ends. Leave it unticked and the plan stops. A ticked renewal can be stopped on the Plans page, and the term already paid still runs to its date. The money settles to the publisher’s Razorpay account. The plan opens only after the payment is verified. Until Razorpay is connected, the buttons are there but cannot take money.

Data

Is the data live?

Prices come from a public market feed for Nasdaq, NYSE, the NSE, and the BSE. They can be a few seconds to a few minutes behind the exchange. This is not a direct exchange connection. The Desk refreshes about once a minute. Intraday refreshes about twice a minute. Headlines are read from the same public news feed and kept for about ten minutes. If a feed fails, the last saved print stays on screen.

What if the fundamentals look old or empty?

The score uses the last reported filing, not a blank, when a newer one is not out yet. The stock page names the quarter or the date those figures are from, and the next result date when the feed has one. A missing growth or value figure is left blank. It is not filled in. A name with no filing at all is not treated as a value or growth strong fit.

Record

What does the older hit-rate test mean?

It is not shown on the Desk, and it is not a promise about the next result. On the last two years of that sample, a strong fit reached its target before the stop about 40% of the time. No longer aligned did that about 45% of the time. No change that never touched the stop was about 53%. Pushing the test near 85% only worked when the target was much smaller than the stop, and those trades lost money. Record is the forward log from the day it began.

Where is the track record?

Record lists each saved strong fit, no longer aligned, and no change with that day’s price, stop, and target, and whether a later close hit the target or the stop. It starts from the day the log began. It is not the older two-year test.

Account

Does FinTape place the order?

No. FinTape does not connect to a broker and does not send an order. You place any real order yourself, at your own broker.

Is this advice for my account?

No. It is a research and timing model. It is not a recommendation sized to your money, your tax, or your risk, except for the share count you calculate yourself. A fee for a strong fit or a no longer aligned label can be regulated. You decide whether a label fits you.
